Working out in Tenerife

There are many great ways to keep fit whilst in Tenerife. With its 269 Kilometers of coastline and colossal Mount Teide it’s definitely a non-stop hive of outdoor activity.


Whether it’s idly strolling along the coast to a favorite restaurant or testing your stamina on one of the many hiking trails, this sub-tropical island offers diverse and breathtaking scenery. It’s possible to see sights that most residents haven’t set eyes on! And you can go at your own pace. Although the island has excellent coverage by bus, routes into the hills and mountains are less frequent and you may be restricted by times therefore hiring a car would be a better option.

Swimming/Scuba Diving

Tenerife’s crystal clear water makes it a great choice for swimming or scuba diving. You’ll find reefs, drop offs, wrecks, caves and not forgetting the varied marine life ready to be explored. There are various dive centers on the island who offer packages for first timers to qualified licensed divers.

For the keen cyclist daily guided tours can be booked enabling you to see parts of the island that tourists would not normally see and you’ll get the chance to ride amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe.


One thing Tenerife is not lacking in is nightlife. Playa de las Americas is by far the liveliest resort, however nightlife can be found all over the island from chill out bars to Spanish influenced clubs.

If you are staying at a hotel or apartment complex most nowadays offer a selection of daily entertainment and activities for all the family, from archery and water aerobics to darts competitions and mini golf. Not forgetting the Tennis courts which usually have a small fee for racket and ball hire.
